Last Friday some of our Year 4-6 pupils travelled to Queenstown's Remarkables Ski Field for our annual senior ski trip.
The conditions were great for skiing, with lots of nice, powdery snow, and fine weather (though a little cloudy and chilly).
Lessons were first; most of the group were in the beginners' section on the learners' slope while some of us went up to the Curvy Basin for experienced skier lessons.
By the afternoon, nearly every skier was good enough or confident enough to be able to use the chair lift for the Alta Green run, with some skiers even able to do the Sugar Bowl or Curvy Basin runs. A couple of really experienced skiers also skied the Shadow Basin.
There were many near misses and some really good tumbles but thankfully no major injuries apart from a few bruises. After a full day of skiing it felt really good to take the ski boots off at the end!
At Edendale Primary School we are...confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners.
